One Year In: How Demand AI Went from Startup to Global Challenger in 12 Months

New products. Rapid growth. Happy customers. And the next chapter is only just beginning.

Twelve months ago Demand AI existed as an idea: a belief that B2B marketing and demand generation were overdue for reinvention.

Today, Demand AI is a profitable global business operating across more than 100 countries, with 160 employees, 100+ customers, global infrastructure spanning multiple continents, and a rapidly expanding suite of AI-native products helping marketers engage buyers in entirely new ways.

And according to the team behind the company, this is only the beginning.

From five people to a global team

Demand AI launched with a small founding team and a big ambition: build a technology company capable of solving modern B2B marketing problems from the ground up.

A year on, the business has grown from that small group to more than 160 people worldwide, with offices spanning 16 markets from Hong Kong to the UK — and all points in between.

For Lauren Whife Akey, Chief Marketing Officer, the people behind the growth are what matter most.

"The thing I'm proudest of is the team we've built in such a short space of time. We've brought together incredibly talented people from across the world who genuinely care about innovation, customers, and each other," she says.

"There's a real energy inside Demand AI — people want to build, improve, and create something meaningful together."

That growth has included major investments in operations, infrastructure, product development, customer success, and global delivery.

Connor Akey, VP of Operations, says scaling at this speed required building the right foundations early.

"We knew from day one that if we wanted to build something genuinely disruptive, we had to invest in the infrastructure ourselves — not rely on third parties. That's meant building systems, processes, and operational capability that allow us to scale globally while maintaining quality, compliance, and consistency for customers."

From zero customers to global enterprise brands

In just one year, Demand AI has grown from zero customers to more than 100 clients globally, including major enterprise organisations across technology, cloud, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and software markets.

Charlie Whife, Co-Founder and Chief Revenue Officer, says the speed of customer growth reflects frustration with legacy approaches in the market.

"Customers are looking for something different. They want transparency. They want quality engagement. They want partners who can show them exactly how demand is being generated and where buyer intent is coming from."

Charlie adds: "We've grown quickly because we're solving real problems in a market that's ready for change."

That customer growth has translated into significant commercial momentum, with the company growing from zero revenue to more than $28 million annualised revenue within its first year — while also reaching profitability.

"That's something we're incredibly proud of," says Charlie. "We've grown fast, but we've also built sustainably. The focus has always been long-term value — for customers, for employees, and for the business itself."

Customer perspective

Customers like what Demand AI is doing. In their own words, a representative of Abbyy said they would recommend Demand AI, and described working with Demand AI as 'really good'. They described Demand AI as: "Always responsive and they make sure the work gets done."

A senior marketing executive with Oper8 Global Group offered this testimonial: "It is always a very productive and pleasant working experience — not only are our objectives met, but the team are always very responsive, helpful and will always come up with viable solutions to resolve challenges."

They added: "I would most definitely recommend Demand AI to any of my friends and business partners — they will not disappoint."

Meanwhile CyberArk said: "Demand AI has been very helpful, helping better optimise campaigns. They are able to execute campaigns to a short timeline."

AI-native products for modern marketers

At the centre of Demand AI's growth has been its expanding suite of AI-native products and services for B2B marketers. Demand AI can support its customers through every stage of identifying, engaging and supporting buyers, to generate sales.

The company now delivers AI-native:

  • Demand generation and content syndication
  • ABM and programmatic advertising
  • EDM and email marketing
  • Content services and events
  • Webinar and audience engagement solutions

And increasingly, proprietary AI-powered engagement experiences through its Amplifye platform.

Michael Whife, Co-Founder and CEO, says the company's philosophy has always been to rethink demand generation through technology — not simply add AI on to legacy services.

"We didn't want to build another traditional lead generation company with AI bolted on the side. We wanted to create technology platforms that genuinely improve how buyers and marketers engage with each other. That's a very different approach."

Central to that vision is Insyte, part of the Amplifye platform, which uses conversational AI to allow buyers to engage directly with content assets and extract the insights they need.

The result is deeper buyer engagement and uniquely rich intent data for customers.

"What excites me most," says Michael, "is that we're still early in this journey. We've launched products that are already changing how marketers think about engagement and buyer intent — and the next generation of what we're building will fundamentally redefine what B2B marketing can look like."

Lauren Whife Akey agrees. "We're not interested in incremental change. We want to create experiences that buyers value, and that marketers can measure in meaningful ways. The market is changing rapidly, and we're building for where it's going — not where it's been."

Infrastructure, compliance and global reach

Behind the scenes, Demand AI has spent the past year investing heavily in global infrastructure. That includes:

  • Data centres across multiple regions
  • Proprietary email domains and delivery systems in every market served
  • A compliant first-party database of more than 280 million data subjects
  • Regional infrastructure designed around security, compliance, and deliverability

Ferlin Ong, Chief Customer Officer, says that investment is central to customer trust.

"Modern marketers want innovation, but they also want accountability. They need to know their partners are compliant, transparent, and operationally sound. A huge amount of work has gone into building that trust infrastructure globally."

What's next?

If the first year was about building foundations, the second year is focused on acceleration.

The company is continuing to expand internationally, grow its product portfolio, and build innovative AI-native products and services designed to reshape how B2B marketing works.

"This first year has been incredible," says Michael Whife. "But honestly, it feels like the beginning rather than the destination. We've built an amazing team, incredible products, and strong customer partnerships — and I genuinely believe the best is still ahead of us."
